ROCK HILL, S.C. —
A Rock Hill man accused of trying to steal donation jars from at least two convenience stores has been caught.
According to the Herald in Rock Hill, Johnny Kendricks faces three criminal charges.
A judge set his bail at $120,000.
Officers said Kendricks went into the Springdale Super-ette on Springdale Road New Year’s night and grabbed the jar filled with money for 14-year-old Emily Elkins, who is fighting cancer.
The clerk wrestled with Kendricks and he ran off without the money.
Back in July, police said Kendricks stole a donation jar at Scott’s Food Store on Heckle Boulevard that had about $70 in it.
