CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio was at a rally in support of Mitt Romney at a steel manufacturing plant in Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon.
Rubio introduced Romney at the Republican National Convention, and now he is marching the campaign trail for him.
On Wednesday afternoon, Rubio attacked President Barrack Obama's job record, but the Obama campaign fired off a preemptive strike this morning sending out its own supporter: Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx.
"Mitt Romney has a backwards looking view of government," said Foxx.
Foxx visited Calor Energy, a company that helps set up clean energy systems. It has flourished and expanded under the president's stimulus funding.
"That has stabilized the economy and started to see new industries just like Calor," said Foxx.
"We are on the verge of huge success, and this is not the time to change horses," said Lisa Morgan of Calor Energy.
