GREENVILLE, S.C. —
A deputy coroner said an 18-year-old leaving a high school prom with three other teens has died from injuries suffered in a crash in Greenville.
Deputy coroner Barry Wright says Rikki Paige West of Belton died early Sunday of head and chest injuries. He said West received treatment from an off-duty doctor who happened upon the scene shortly before midnight.
The other teens were treated for injuries that weren't life-threatening, as was the 21-year-old driver of the pickup also involved in the wreck.
Wright said the teens had left the Woodmont High School prom and were on their way to a bowling alley.
He says the driver turned right from the left-hand turn lane, crossing all lanes of traffic.
The pickup struck the car in the passenger door.
