One person was killed and another injured in a crash on Old Salisbury-Concord Road.
The crash happened around 11:45 a.m. Friday near Camp Julia Road in Cabarrus County.
North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said a Ford Escort was driving the wrong way and hit a Hyundai Sonata head on. The driver of the Escort, a 53-year-old woman, died at the scene. Troopers said they are waiting to identify the woman pending notification of next of kin.
Troopers said it was possibly drug related.
The driver of the Sonata was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
