CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
As part of his 81st birthday celebration, William Shatner dined with his millionth Twitter follower after a performance of his live act, Shatner’s World, at Belk Theatre in uptown Charlotte.
Troy Pound (@pdoxjr), a man from Wagener, S.C., and his wife were treated to dinner with Shatner after the show. The dinner was captured in a brief, grainy YouTube video.
“As promised, the millionth Twitter follower. We’re having dinner,” Shatner said in the video. “Thank you, everybody.”
Pound gave a glowing review of Shatner’s performance, tweeting to his followers that the show was “#awesome sauce.”
The dinner event was set up by Shatner’s wife, Elizabeth, and Shatner’s online projects coordinator, Paul Camuso.
