One day after her brother was released from the hospital, the sister of the Rev. Billy Graham sat down with Eyewitness News to talk about his health.
"You know, anytime anyone is 95 you will be concerned," said Jean Ford.
Ford shared her first thoughts when she learned her brother was in the hospital.
"I feel like I am going to be sad because I did not know what was going on. I am not sad now," said Ford.
Not sad now because she knows Graham's medical visit was just routine to check up on ongoing lung problems.
She said the religious icon is actually doing better than he has in years. She visited him a few weeks ago.
"He could hear every word I said. Alert. His eyes were bright and he was laughing and joking," said Ford.
She said his mind is still on his ministry.
She calls his new project soon to be released by the Evangelistic Association, "Wonderful."
"It is moving to me. To see this young man with all this energy, and the old man sitting on his porch, and the message has not changed," said Ford.
As the family and the world prepare to celebrate the pastor's 95th birthday, Ford and her husband will attend the party, and while some try to predict who will be the next Billy Graham, she is certain there will never be another.
"That is my brother. He was God's person for a special time in our history. I am grateful that I know him then and that I know him like I do," said Ford.
