CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Small businesses hope shoppers are gearing up for round two of shopping after finding Black Friday deals.

American Express created Small Business Saturday three years ago, to help those struggling during the recession.

Customers who have registered in advance can receive a $25 rebate at participating stores.

More than 90 percent of the retailers in South End are classified as small businesses and hope that Saturday means big business.

"Hopefully, people in the community will get out and realize that it is good to support small businesses and it will bring awareness to local businesses in Charlotte," said Blank Canvas owner Nicole Blackmon.

To draw people in, South End will have two free trolleys, maps of shops in the area and free shopping bags.
