CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Tuesday morning will be a bit warmer than the past couple mornings at 42 degrees.
The trade-off is that a blanket of clouds that is forming overhead will bring spotty showers Tuesday.
Expect off and on showers throughout the day, with the heaviest rain during the afternoon hours. The mountains could see some snow with this storm.
Rain will be rather light through lunchtime and steady later in the afternoon. The window for the heaviest downpours will be between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Rain totals in Charlotte will be about a quarter of an inch.
The mountains could see a couple inches of snow in the lower elevations and up to four inches in higher elevations. The snow could fall into Wednesday.
A warm-up is expected later in the week and into the weekends with temperatures reaching the 60s.
