SOUTH CAROLINA —

South Carolina's Supreme Court will decide if the state can raise health insurance costs for more than 230,000 state workers and their families.

State employees have filed two lawsuits to block the increase that is scheduled to take effect Jan. 1.

It could be December before justices hear arguments in the case.

The court did not stop the increase. The lawsuits are pending.
