CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Storms are forecast to return to the Charlotte area on Tuesday evening.
A flash flood watch is in effect through 4 a.m. Wednesday for most of the Channel 9 viewing area, including Mecklenburg County. A severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect for several counties.

Heavy downpours are expected in some areas, and lightning and winds are also possible.
On Wednesday, the storm chance drops to 30 percent, with highs in the low 80s.
