After the storms of Thursday, temperatures dropped Friday into the mid-80s.
Overnight, temperatures will drop into the upper 50s, low 60s for Charlotte and the midlands. The mountains will drop to the low 50s.
There will be plenty of sunshine for Saturday, according to Severe Weather Center 9 meteorologist Vicki Graf.
More heat will start to build for Father's Day on Sunday. Graf said it will be partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 80s.
There is a chance for a few showers across the mountains, but most will stay dry.
Temperatures will be in the upper 80s by the start of next week, but with humidity and heat it will feel like the 90s. There will be a chance for storms or showers Monday afternoon, but a better chance will be on Tuesday.
