Two buses wreck with car, 70 children involved

GASTONIA, N.C. —

Nearly a dozen children were taken to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after an accident involving two buses and a car, the Gaston Gazette reported.

According to the Gazette, at least 20 children are being treated under a large tent that was set up near Carolina Avenue. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

There were 70 children on the buses, the paper reported.

The buses belonged to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Gastonia and the YMCA.

The Gazette said the accident happened shortly before 3 p.m.

A child and an adult in the car involved in the accident were also taken to a nearby hospital, the newspaper reported.

Officials have not commented on what caused the accident.
