Two suspects have been charged in a deadly robbery near a north Charlotte convenience store.
Officers arrested Jonah Bryant, 18, and Christopher Diggs, 18, late Thursday. Bryant is charged with murder, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Diggs is charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle causing serious injury and discharging a firearm into a running vehicle.
Police said they believe Bryant and Diggs shot into a car by the RaceWay on Sugar Creek Road late Tuesday. Miguel Sanchez died the next day from the injuries he sustained.
Diggs has a lengthy arrest record with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Bryant and Diggs are being held without bond in the Mecklenburg County Jail.
