CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Two men who allegedly robbed a south Charlotte bank were arrested within minutes of the crime.
Police said Randy Meeks and Treymayne Thomas held up Bank of America on busy Randolph Road in the heart of Cotswold.
Investigators said a teller put a tracking device in the bag of money and someone gave officers a description of the getaway vehicle.
It didn't take long for an officer to come across the vehicle and the tracking device and pull over thesuspects, police said.
Back at the bank, Ahesha Barr was worried about her son at Cotswold Elementary school, which is within walking distance from the crime scene.
"All the crime tape, all the police cars, and I was just surprised because this is such a good area. This is such a close-knit community over here," she said.
Eyewitness News saw Anne Mackey waving down police, so we asked her what was so important. She said a burglar broke into her neighbor's house near the bank earlier Monday. She thought the two crimes could be linked and said she had surveillance video that could help.
"It's very unusual. We don't get a lot of crime in our neighborhood at all," she said.
The two cases do not appear to be related.
