CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The average U.S. price of a gallon of gasoline has jumped eight cents over the past two weeks.The Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released Sunday says the price of a gallon of regular is $3.67. Midgrade costs an average of $3.85 a gallon, and premium is $3.99.Diesel was up four cents at $3.93 gallon.Of the cities surveyed in the Lower 48 states, Charleston, S.C., has the nation's lowest average price for gas at $3.34. Chicago has the highest at $4.10.AAA Carolinas experts said they expect prices to increase by up to a nickel a week through Labor Day. They said crude oil prices are peaking right now.
