Woman found dead in East Spencer home

Detectives are at the scene of an apparent homicide in East Spencer Friday afternoon.

Police said six children were inside the home on Spencer Street when the woman was killed.

Police said the woman was the caretaker for the children.

A neighbor told Channel 9 the children went to their door about 6 a.m. to report that someone had killed their grandmother.

State Bureau of Investigation, Sheriff's Deputies and East Spencer police are all at the scene investigating.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.
