Man Accidentally Runs Over Wife On I-85

A woman died along the shoulder of Interstate 85 when her husband backed over her Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The accident happened near the Rowan County/Davidson County line. Troopers said the victim pulled over after a tire on her car went flat. Her husband, who was driving an RV, pulled over and was backing up to his wife's car when she slipped, fell and was run over, troopers said.

Troopers said the man will not be charged. The couple lived in Archdale.
