Man Charged With Shooting Family’s Horse

A Kings Mountain family is heartbroken after someone shot and killed its pet horse.

Barry Wright and his wife found their horse “Mickey” shot between its eyes on Saturday.

Just the day before, the Wrights took home video of their children riding the horse. The family had just saved up enough money to buy the horse last month.

“I’m really furious over it,” Wright said. “We worked to get a very nice good horse like that.”

Sunday night, police arrested Charles Phillips and charged him with cruelty to animals.
