Mexican Senators To Visit UNC Charlotte Monday

North Carolina has the fastest growing Latino Population in the country, with most of the states newest residents arriving from Mexico according to Migration Information Source.

Senators representing the Mexican Federal Government will visit the UNC Charlotte campus on Monday and deliver a one-day presentation on immigration, environment and health issues.

Sponsored by the Department of Language and Culture Studies and the Latin American Studies program, the Senators will present a lecture in McKnight Hall in the University's Cone Center from 10 a.m. to noon.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Senators visiting are: Adrian Alanis Quinones, president of the Population and Development Commission of the Mexican Senate, Miguel Angel Navarro Quintero, director of the Health Commission of the Mexican Senate, and Ms. Emilia Patricia Gomez Bravo, permanent member of the Population and Development Commission and the Health Commission.
