NASCAR Driver's Generosity Saves Shih Tzu Dog's Life

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart's charitable foundation recently donated an undisclosed amount of money to save and injured stray Shih Tzu dog.

The three-year-old male was taken to the Humane Society of Hamilton County in Indianapolis on St. Patrick’s Day needing immediate surgery to repair a broken back.

Stewart found out about the injury from Joni Thompson who is executive director of the Tony Stewart Foundation whose Shih Tzu, Buddy died in 2007.

Stewart through his foundation made the generous donation to the Humane Society for the cost of the surgery and a special ‘wheelchair’ that the dog needs after losing the use of his hind legs.

Stewart is known for his charitable contributions in the past and won NASCAR Illustrated’s “Person of the Year” last year.
