The body was found in a rural area, but investigators would not say how the body was discovered.

The coroner who received the body this afternoon says the woman has not been identified and appears to be no older than her late 20s. The coroner would not say if the woman’s body had suffered any injuries.

There are only about five houses on the mile and a half dirt road where the body was found. A woman who lives along the road said her neighbor spotted the body while out riding his four-wheeler and called police. Eyewitness News tried to speak with that man but we were asked to leave his property.

York County sheriff’s deputies are investigating this case as a homicide, but said that does not necessarily mean there was a homicide involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call 803-628-3059 or Crime Stoppers at 877-409-4321
