Peacock Captured In Gaston County

Neighbors in Gaston County found a wild animal they are not used to seeing.

Somehow they managed to wrangle a female peacock and hand it over to animal control.

It's even a rare sight at the animal shelter where they often get exotic animals.

It has been here since Wednesday when people on Bethany Road spotted the bird.

So far, no one has claimed it.

Shelter workers believe they may have zoo operators in Maiden willing to take the bird if no one claims it.
