Pineville Police Go Door-To-Door In Apartment Complexes

PINEVILLE, N.C. —

Pineville police went door to door Wednesday night, hoping to crack down on the rise of violent crime in the city.

Their mission was called "Operation Clean Sweep".

Members of the department went to every apartment complex in the city, focusing on drug and gang activity as well as loitering problems.

More than 70% of people in Pineville live in apartments; that's why police targeted those communities. Police say this project isn't a one-time effort, and they plan to go out in force every few months.
