GASTONIA, N.C. —
Police said a 20-month old girl was just 3 feet away from 9.2 grams of the drug when they searched 30-year-old George Wilson Jr.'s home late Thursday.
Wilson said in court Friday that there were other children in the home on South Marietta Street at the time. He said the little girl in question was asleep when officers came in.
The attorney hired by his family said despite the four felony drug charges and child abuse charges, Wilson probably won’t serve time.
“This is not someone who is likely to receive any kind of incarceration,” Craig Collins said.
Collins said the drugs were found in a room Wilson shared with another adult.
Neighbors said they suspect Wilson was selling drugs out of the home.
A judge lowered Wilson’s bond from $100,000 to $25,000.
