Report: Charlotte One Of America’s Least-Safe Driving Cities

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Charlotte is 129th on a list ranking which of America’s 200 largest cities has the safest drivers.

The Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report ranks driver safety by the amount of collisions.

In the 2010 report, Charlotte ranks as one of the least-safe driving cities. The average driver in the city will be in a collision every 8.6 years, the report says.

Charlotte’s rank improved this year, jumping 13 slots from its 2009 ranking of 142. Last year, the report said the average Charlotte driver would be involved in a collision every 8.1 years.

Fort Collins, Colo. was ranked at the top of the 2010 report, with the average driver involved in a collision every 14.5 years.
