Robbery, Shooting, Car Fire Keeps Charlotte Police Busy

CHARLOTTE, NC —

The call for the robbery came in first just before 12:30 a.m. Monday. It happened at a home on Eaglewood Avenue off Monroe Road in southeast Charlotte.

The victim told police three men hit him on the head and then robbed him. The victim was not taken to the hospital. Officers are still searching for the robbers.

About an hour later, someone was shot in the leg on Pitts Drive near Beatties Ford Road in northwest Charlotte.

The victim was standing by a car when the shooting happened. That person was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting, and do not have a good description of the suspect.

Just after 1:30 a.m., a car was sent of fire in east Charlotte on Great Wagon Road.

The car’s owner told Eyewitness News that someone threw a brick through the window, poured gasoline inside and then set it on fire.

Police are still investigating.
