RV Fire Shuts Down I-77 N In Iredell County

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. —

The right lane of Interstate 77 northbound at Exit 42 is closed because of an RV fire.

An RV caught fire just south of Troutman, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Both lanes were blocked immediately after the fire broke out, at about 4:30 p.m. The left lane was reopened at about 5:30 p.m.

Troopers said they think everyone in the RV got out safely. They haven't said how the fire started.

Traffic in the area was backed up for several miles during evening rush hour.
