Second Victim Of Cabarrus County Crash Dies

CONCORD, N.C. —

A second person has died after an accident investigators say was caused by a drunken driver.

Troopers say 25-year-old Gary Metheny's truck crossed the center line and slammed head-on into Terry and Mary Sifford's sport utility vehicle on Sapp Road in Cabarrus County late Sunday.

Terry Sifford died just after the crash. Mary Sifford passed away on Tuesday.

Metheny is charged with second-degree murder and driving while impaired. A judge set his bond at $1 million.
