ALBEMARLE, N.C. —
Police were called to the home on North First Street around 2 a.m. Sunday.
Inside, they found the bodies of Shirley Rummage, 73, and her son, Rickey Lowder, 48.
Speaking on behalf of Rummage's family, Kellie Biles said Rummage's grandson found the two bodies.
"I'm disgusted with the fact that somebody could go in and shoot these people like this," Biles said. "And for what reason?"
Family members at the scene said they saw police recover a gun outside the home early Sunday morning.
Investigators wouldn't confirm many details on Sunday. They did not release a possible motive for the shooting.
Late in the afternoon, police towed a car from the home. No arrests have been made.
