STATESVILLE, N.C. —
Police say Ramseur was apprehended by police at the Hallmark Inn in Statesville at 10:45 a.m. on Monday. He was apprehended without incident.
Police say numerous tip calls, after surveillance video from the robbery was released to the media, led to the arrest.
Ramseur is accused of shooting and killing a female clerk and a customer early Sunday morning. Authorities said Ramseur came into the Shell Station off of Broad Street and demanded money from the clerk, Jennifer Vincek, 28, of Statesville.
After reviewing surveillance video from inside the store, police said Ramseur reached over the counter and grabbed the money from the register. Ramseur then shot and killed Vincek, police said.
Before leaving the store, police said Ramseur turned to customer Jeffrey Peck, 52, of Statesville and shot him. Peck was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police told Eyewitness News that Vincek is a single mother of three. They said that Peck was a regular at the store. Investigators said a witness was outside the store when it happened and called 911.
A fund has been set up for Vincek's three young daughters at Wachovia Bank in Jennifer Vincek's name.
