CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
A weak cold front is pushing through Charlotte Tuesday afternoon, taking the edge off of both the heat and humidity.
Drier and cooler weather will arrive Wednesday and last into the weekend.
Rain chances for Tuesday will be southeast of Interstate 85, likely into the South Carolina midlands.
The Charlotte area is expected to be back down to the mid-80s by the end of the week.
A noticeable drop in humidity into Wednesday morning will stick around for several days.
The tropics also remain quiet, despite the statistical peak of the hurricane season, starting Sept. 10.
