Surveillance Video Shows Reluctant Robbers At York County Store

YORK COUNTY, SC —

York County sheriff's deputies are looking for two men who couldn't decide whether or not to rob a convenience store, then finally went in and did it late Sunday.

Surveillance video shows the two men walk in and out of the Petro Express on Carowinds Boulevard twice while they audibly talk it over.

The men stand at the register, walk around the store and even apparently argue about the plan before committing the crime.

Finally one man pulls a gun while apologizing repeatedly to the clerk, telling him they don't want to hurt him.

On the way out with the money, one of the robbers says he's sorry. All of their words were caught on tape.

Deputies said it's rare to see such hesitation and agonizing by people committing this kind of crime.

Both robbers are described as white men in their late 20s or early 30s. One is heavy set, balding and has a goatee. The other is thin and has brown hair.

Anyone with any information about the robbery should call York County Crime Stoppers at (877) 409-4321.
