Teacher Complains About Cold Temperatures Inside Her Classroom

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Jo Boyd teaches second grade at Devonshire Elementary School. She says the last three days have been uncomfortable for her and her students. "It breaks my heart. I can't warm them. I can't hug 18 children at the same time," Boyd told us.

Charlotte Mecklenburg School officials told us they were unaware of any heating complaints from employees of Devonshire Elementary. But Boyd, a teacher for 28 years, says she has complained to her principal, who has complained to the district on her behalf.

We took Boyd's concerns to the district Monday night. We were told they would contact the principal to inquire about the heating situation at Devonshire Elementary. Students go on winter break after classes on Tuesday.
