CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Patriot Gala emcee Erica Bryant Erica Patriot Gala emcee Erica Bryant
The Gala is the premier black-tie event to benefit wounded warriors, along with their families, returning from duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is a worthy and timely cause as more and more of our young men and women are returning from military action with catastrophic injuries that will affect the rest of their lives. Conservative estimates are that there will be over 355,000 men and women with some disabling injury from action entering an already over-burdened military healthcare system.
The Patriot Gala provides an opportunity for Charlotte to support a local grassroots non-profit. The evening includes the finest in wine and food, a 21-gun salute, a special tribute to our fallen warriors from North and South Carolina who have died in the line of duty, champagne toasts, one-of-a-kind live and silent auctions, and dancing. WSOC-TV anchor Erica Bryant will emcee the event.
Chas Fagan Creates Bronze Sculpture for The Patriot Gala
Chas Fagan, whose name and reputation are recognized from coast to coast as a sculptor and landscape and portrait artist, will donate a bronze sculpture he created exclusively for The Patriot Gala. The work entitled “The Free Never Forget” is Mr. Fagan’s interpretation of the famous Battlefield Cross and will be a featured live auction item for this year’s Patriot Gala. A Yale graduate, Mr. Fagan’s commissioned pieces include a portrait of Barbara Bush for the White House, sculptures of Neil Armstrong for Washington, D.C. and President George H.W. Bush for the city of Houston and a statue of President Ronald Reagan for The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation that is displayed in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. Locally, he was commissioned by the May 20th Society to produce “The Spirit of Mecklenburg”, a heroic size statue of Captain James Jack. Chas Fagan is represented locally by Shain Gallery.
