Three Arrested In Connection With Attempted Arson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Three more arrest have been made in connection to an arson attempt at Old Number Two Mill in Great Falls, S.C.

Police arrested Zachery Bailey, 18, Dmario Simpson, 19, and Eugene Simpson, 22, for conspiracy to comment arson. Bret Hollingshed, 26, was apprehended earlier this month as he entered the Old Number Two Mill in the early morning hours of Oct. 1 with the intent to burn down the building, Police said.

Police had been acting on a tip when they arrested Hollingshed for burglary and attempted arson charges.

According to the Chester County Sheriff’s office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the men purchased gasoline on Sept. 30 and then met to plan out the crime. Their intent was to burn down the building and cause an evacuation, which they believed would result in receiving money from the government for living expenses during the evacuation, Police said.

All four are in jail.
