Walmart routes
Walmart routes

Access to and from the new Walmart on Independence Blvd. can be tricky.  Many drivers are making potentially dangerous turns onto Independence Blvd., while others are cutting through residential neighborhoods.  Traffic Team 9 has researched the best routes to and from the new Independence Blvd. Walmart.

  • From outbound Independence Blvd., use the Pierson Dr. exit (just past the Walmart parking lot).
  • From inbound Independence Blvd., use Sharon Amity Rd. (right) to Albemarle Rd. (left) to Wilshire Place (right).  Wilshire Place is the first right as Albemarle Rd. is merging onto Independence Blvd., next to the office tower.  Use Wilshire Place (right) to Pierson Alley (right) to Pierson Dr. (right) to access Walmart.
  • From Walmart onto inbound Independence Blvd., use Pierson Dr.  Follow the signs for westbound US 74.
  • From Walmart onto outbound Independence Blvd., use the Pierson Dr. ramp onto eastbound US 74.
  • From Walmart onto Albemarle Rd.  This is the most dangerous part, with many drivers attempting to cross 5 lanes of freeway traffic to reach the Albemarle Rd. exit.  Traffic Team 9 suggests taking Pierson Dr. to inbound Independence Blvd. (westbound US 74) to Eastway Dr. (turn right) to Central Ave. (turn right) as an alternate route onto Albemarle Rd.  It's not the fastest route, but it's much safer than the alternatives.
