Four streets near CPCC will be closed from 8:30 p.m. through 10:30 p.m.  on July 4th for the Presbyterian Hospital July 4th Spectacular.  Heavy traffic is expected in the area and there will also be delays on I-277 and Independence Blvd.

• 3rd St. CLOSED:  Inbound 3rd St. will be closed at Charlottetowne Ave. from 8:30 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. on July 4th.  Use Queens Rd./Hawthorne Ln. (right) to 7th St. (left), or use Queens Rd. (left) to Morehead St. (right) to McDowell St. (right), as alternate routes between Myers Park and Uptown Charlotte.
• 4th St. CLOSED:  4th St. will be closed at Torrence St. from 8:30 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. on July 4th.  Use Hawthorne Ln. (right) to 7th St. (left), or use Queens Rd. (left) to Morehead St. (right) to McDowell St. (right), as alternate routes between Elizabeth and Uptown Charlotte.
• ELIZABETH AVE. CLOSED:  Elizabeth Ave. will be closed between Torrence St. and Kings Dr. from 8:30 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. on July 4th.  Use Hawthorne Ln. to 7th St. (left) as an alternate route traveling from the Presbyterian Hospital area into Uptown.
• CHARLOTTETOWNE AVE. CLOSED:  Charlottetowne Ave. will be closed between 3rd St. and 7th St. from 8:30 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. on July 4th.  Use Kings Dr. or Hawthorne Ln. as alternate routes.

After the fireworks, there will be additional closures as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police direct spectators aways from the Memorial Stadium area.

• The John Belk Freeway ramp onto Independence Blvd. will be closed to most traffic from 9:45 p.m. through 11 p.m.  Use Brookshire Freeway as an alternate route between I-77, Uptown Charlotte, and Independence Blvd.  (If you're attending the fireworks, you will be able to take 4th St. to John Belk Freeway to Independence Blvd., but all other traffic will be blocked).
• 7th St. will be heavily congested between Central Ave. and Hawthorne Ln. from 9:30 p.m. through 11 p.m.  Use Central Ave. (left) to Hawthorne Ln. (right)., or use McDowell St. (right) to 3rd St. (left) to Queens Rd./Hawthorne Ln. (left), as an alternate route traveling from Uptown toward Elizabeth.
