Major delays are expected on I-85 South in Concord on Friday night and Saturday night due to a traffic shift. On Friday night, NCDOT will close the right lane of I-85 South between Highway 73/Exit 55 and Kannapolis Parkway/Exit 54 from 9 p.m. through 6 a.m. On Saturday night, NCDOT will close the right lane between Kannapolis Parkway/Exit 54 and Poplar Tent Rd./Exit 52 from 9 p.m. through 6 a.m. Use Highway 29 as an alternate route between Concord and Charlotte. Local traffic can use Odell School Rd. as an alternate route between Highway 73 and Poplar Tent Rd.
