Water Main Break Shuts Down One Lane Of Graham St.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

There is a water main break at the 3200 block of North Graham Street near Atando Avenue in north Charlotte.

Police are on the scene and they are blocking the inbound right lane of Graham Street just past the Atando Avenue intersection.

The water spilling onto the road is freezing and could cause major problems for commuters Wednesday morning.

A Channel 9 crew’s truck slid on the ice caused by the break when they arrived on the scene.

A Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities Department crew has arrived on the scene and will work to repair the road.

Commuters should use Atando Avenue to N. Tryon Street to Dalton Avenue as an alternate route.
