Ways To Reduce Air Pollution

Use electric or natural gas grills instead of charcoal and lighter fluids. Use environmentally-safe paints and cleaning products. Avoid using gas-powered lawn equipment on Air Quality Action Days, or delay using them until after 6 p.m. Conserve energy by setting air conditioners at 78 degrees or higher, turning out lights and equipment when not in use, and buying energy efficient lighting and Energy Star appliances and electronics. Turn lights off when you leave the room Turn off office equipment when it is not in use Reduce hot water heater temperature to 120 degrees if allowable Keep doors and windows closed Turn off motor vehicles when not in use or eliminate idling times Purchase energy star appliances and enable energy star settings
