West Cabarrus YMCA Bus Involved In Accident

A bus from the West Cabarrus YMCA bus was involved in an accident at Interstate 85 and George Liles Parkway Friday afternoon.

The bus was coming from Odell and Boger elementary schools, taking children to an after-school program. Three students were taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure, police said.

Children were on the bus at the time of the accident, but no one was seriously injured.

Police said an SUV was making a left turn off the northbound lane of I-85 while the bus was crossing I-85. The two vehicles collided, but police said they haven't yet determined who was at fault.

The West Cabarrus YMCA is in Concord, on Langford Avenue.
