Woman Tossed To Floor During Possible Cabarrus Co. Tornado

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. —

Severe weather damaged at least one home in Cabarrus County on Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service will be in Cabarrus County on Friday, trying to determine if a tornado hit the area.

Powerful winds moved a mobile home on Mount Pleasant Road off its foundation and left a trail of debris outside.

Virginia Harper was inside when the winds hits.

She was hit in the head by a plate, but said the winds came and went quickly.

"Next thing I know, the house was shaken and I was on the floor," Harper said. "And the cabinet was on my shoulder”.

Neighbors reported minor damage and some downed trees.

There's no word yet on a damage estimate for the entire area.
