Wrong-Way Driver Charged With DWI
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
A man faces driving while impaired charges after officers said he drove the wrong way on Interstate 85.
Officers said the driver, whose name hasn't been released, started driving the wrong way on southbound I-85 near Dale Earnhardt Boulevard in Cabarrus County early Sunday.
An off-duty officer at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte spotted the driver, turned around to follow him and got the wrong way driver to stop in Rowan County.
