Asheville woman OK after SUV slid into river

ASHEVILLE — An Asheville woman is expected to be OK after her SUV slid off a slick road into the French Broad River.

However, instead of calling 911, she called her husband.

"I saw the tracks right here and I slowed down and looked. It was down, deep down in there, so I jumped out and ran down there," said husband Nathan Woods.

Rescuers arrived and brought the couple to safety.

Woods says he's grateful their four kids were not in the car at that time.
