NC General Assembly to hear new Medicaid plan Monday

RALEIGH — The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will present its new plan for Medicaid reform to the General Assembly on Monday.

Under the proposed plan, the state and providers would share the cost of Medicaid for the first time.

The plan expands accountable care organizations operating throughout the state.

The network of physicians or hospitals would keep a portion of the savings, but would share the losses if patient costs exceed standards.
