Updated:BOONE, N.C.,None - President Barack Obama made a pit stop at the Mast General Store in Boone on Monday to satisfy his sweet tooth.
Obama checked out the candy barrels at the store near Appalachian State University, according to the Asheville Citizen-Times.
"This is good right here," Obama said as he picked out a Bit-o-Honey and some maple candy clusters. "It just goes on forever," he said as he walked from barrel to barrel.
Obama greeted residents, shaking hands with people who were lined up the street waiting to get a glimpse of the President.
"It's a fantastic experience," said ASU housing coordinator Jason Timpson who said he's not usually in awe. "I think I could pass out right now."
