NEWBERRY, S.C. — (AP) State and local law enforcement officers are searching some woods in Newberry County for four suspects, including a teen wanted for killing his father in Tennessee.
Sheriff Lee Foster says a South Carolina trooper early Thursday morning spotted a van at a rest area on Interstate 26 that was connected to the killing of 36-year-old Robert Blanchard in Greeneville, Tenn.
The van drove off, and troopers and deputies chased it off I-26, through Newberry to U.S. 176 near Pomaria. A deputy was able to spike the tires, and the suspects ran into the woods.
Foster says officers are looking for three white men and a white woman, all in their mid or late teens. He says they have pistols and ammunition.
The names of the suspects haven't been released.
