Where the money goes

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

The Avon Foundation funds five key areas of the breast cancer cause: treatment, support, detection, education and research.

Every dollar counts:

Research: $25 can pay for test tubes and similar supplies for a breast cancer research laboratory.

Meals: $35 pays for home-delivered meals for a breast cancer patient undergoing chemo or radiation therapy.

Early detection: $150 can help an uninsured woman get a mammogram.

Treatment: $250 can help a newly diagnosed woman get the x-rays and lab work needed to determine treatment.

Tests: $1,000 can help an uninsured woman get a breast biopsy or MRI to see if cancer is present.

Surgery: $1,800 can help an uninsured patient cover a significant portion of the cost of a lumpectomy.
