During the week of Homecoming activities (Feb. 6-11, 2012), the College will recognize and pay tribute to special donors, dignitaries, students, alumni and friends.
Clinton Junior College will host its inaugural Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012; another historical moment for the College.
“Everyone loves a parade,” said Willie Tabor, vice president for Institutional Advancement. “We hope to engage the community, bring positive visibility and awareness to the College, and foster alumni participation and commitment.”
The venue for the parade staging is the City Hall parking lot at 155 Johnson Street. Staging will begin at 8 a.m., and the parade will commence at 9 a.m. and proceed down Hampton Street to Crawford Road and end in the vicinity of the College. This is an ideal time for corporations, churches, college/university bands, high school bands, civic organizations, Greek organizations, Step Teams, Drill Teams, Liturgical Dancers, etc. to participate in this special event.
There is no entry fee for participation. You may enter a float or vehicle.
Clinton Junior College Golden Bears will face USC - Sumter, SC in a double-header basketball exhibition Homecoming day. The lady Golden Bears will begin the charge at 2 p.m. followed by the men Golden Bears at 4 p.m.
Vendors are encouraged to participate. The cost to set up a vending spot is $100 for the duration of the day.
