CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
WSOC-TV will take part in a nationwide TEST of the Emergency Alert System on Wednesday, November 9th at approximately 2:00 pm.
This is only a test and will last approximately 1 minute before regularly scheduled programming resumes.
This TEST is part of a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System where viewers and listeners will hear and see the EAS test on local television, cable, satellite TV and radio stations.
The national Emergency Alert System was established as a public alert and warning system.
It enables the President of the United States to address the American public directly during extreme emergencies.
This TEST reminds all of us to be prepared for an emergency.
